20th International Conference on Port and Ocean Engineering under Arctic Conditions 2009

June 9-12, 2009 in Luleå, Sweden
Extended deadline for submitting an Abstract

Extended deadline for submitting an Abstract to the international conference Port and Ocean Engineering under Arctic Conditions, POAC 09.

The number of contributions already sent in to POAC in Luleå, 9-12 June 2009 are surprisingly high. But as you all know it cannot be too many participants in the huge Luleå Campus. Therefore the deadline will be extended to November 15.

Remember that after this date we cannot guarantee that your contact info and abstract will appear in the nice looking booklet that we plan to distribute at the conference. It is of course also possible to participate without presenting a paper. We are also about to open up the conference for an exhibition of Cold Regions Technology.

Second Announcement and Call for Abstracts

The 20th conference, POAC 09, will be held in Luleå, the capital of Swedish Lapland. POAC is the acronym for the International Conference on Port and Ocean Engineering under Arctic Conditions. Every second year since 1971 this conference on ice and cold regions engineering has provided an outstanding forum for discussion of new developments and research findings. Typically, there are about 150 participants at the conference presenting and discussing papers related to many ice engineering topics.

You are invited to submit a 300 word abstract by October 31, 2008, see instructions in left menu.

POAC Best Student-Paper Award
A prize sum of 1000 USD will be given to the author(s) of the best student-authored paper. A paper is eligible if all of its authors are full-time students at the time of submission. This must be indicated on the abstract submission form
